I am switching from 2 maxspect gyre xf230s to 2 MP40s. I’d run the gyres at opposite ends on random antisync up to 90%. What power would be similar for 2 mp40s at opposite ends of a 4’ 90 gallon tank. Should they be directly opposite each other or offset and how low below the surface? Thanks in advance.

There's no universal sweet spot that I know of. Problem is rock structures are different along with coral placement. If your polyps or tenticals are getting hammer by the flow move the pumps around.
Funny I have a bunch of mp40s and I've tried a number of different placements but can't dial in the perfect flow. I'm excited this week I'm getting a icecap 2k to play with.
If you don't have sand and have a open channel in the back a mp40 on one side at the bottom works great
