OP has another thread asking about Nero controllers. My reply is what happens when quickly reading multiple threads from same OP…The Neros are nothing like the MPxx in that regard. The Nero line has the motor and cord in the tank held in place by a magnet on the outside. The MPxx have the motor and cord on the outside of the tank and drive the propeller on the inside by magnets, which also help hold them in place along with sticky tie-wrap mounts for the cord outside the tank. The Nero pumps have great flow pattern but they're still just like most others as far as where the cord goes. *Ecotec is the mother company but they are separate entities.

Neros do have wires inside of the tank. I own and use both MP40s and Neros. Both are good powerheads. The Nero wire is very thin and is often less noticeable than the large MP wart on the outside of the tank.

Try as I might, I can't find specs for the size of the controllers for these pumps. I care because the lid / top of my tank is welded-on 1/2" acrylic and I'll need to cut a hole (slot) to pass the control through. It looks like it's hard-wired to the pump, yes?
@kzenoni What type of adhesive did you use? My MP60s seem to not want to stay in one place on my 1" thick acrylic tank.
Mp40s come with multiple tank connectors for 1/4 to over 1 inch thick tanks. You should be fine.
Yeah, my tabs have come off many times. Once my dry side fell recently all the way to the floor and was damaged. My tank is painted and not sure if that is the issue or not. I wasn't sure if you did anything different or not. Still searching for ideas.
