My MP40QD dry side is making an annoying high pitched noise lately driving my wife crazy. It doesn’t sound like a bearing as much as like the dc motor or something. Anyone have this?

Take it apart, clean it, and run the motor without the blade and cage on it. If it still makes the noise, then you know it's the motor. If it's gone, then you know it's the blade. Clean it really well then put it back together and see if it's still making noise.

All of that preceded this post. Just mostly trying to figure out if its the motor or bearings. Thanks!

There are lots of YouTube video's showing how to replace the bearings.
Oh right on thanks! All I could find is one’s on the much older units. I guess for the cost I can try it and see if it’s that or the motor whining.

it didnt sound like bad bearings, that makes a very loud grinding sound, I started running mine about 60%, because when I ran them at 100 if anything happened to the wet side, it would toast my bearings. Im a dang good mechanic, tried 3 different times to replace bearings, over a decade and had no luck all 3 times. even made a custom bearing puller. New SFK bearings made more noise then the old ones, and these were highly rated. Best bet is to call up ecotech and they will dry side you at a huge discount if you complain in a nice manner.

Did you find any solution to these newer qd ones. I have a 5 month old one that makes rattling and grinding noise on dry side, have tried with other wet sides so know is dry side issue. Will make film of it starting when get a chance. Considering how much these things cost very disappointed with the brand and quality. I bought two brand new, one is ok still.

on a side not, my new westside would not quiet down, the ceramic shaft/bearing was frozen in impeller, and spinning on stainless steel shaft. That was an easy fix
