I have the RS 425XL. Return pump Syncra SDC 7.0 running at 52% min/max 800/1900 GPH. 2 MP40's running on left and right side at 3% to 10%...
I believe I got too much flow for my tank.. I have messed with positions for hours and can not get a nice back and forth motion.. if I raise up the speeds
its like a hurricane in my tank.. see attached video and setting .

.Any suggestions does anyone have.. what are you all running your speeds at.

You flow doesn't look outrageous - if anything try "reef crest" in anti-sync mode. That seems to be popular with most folks. Attached is my 2 MP40s flow set up - it's 120g tank - 48x24x24

Depends on what you mean by a nice back and forth motion? You’re never going to get slow, natural back and forth motion like you see in the ocean no matter what you try. Home tanks are too small and wave propagation physics won’t allow it. 3-10% seems woefully inadequate in a 100 gallon tank. I ran my dual MP40S in a125 on reefcrest at 80%.

I can’t see the videos for some reason but why do you have the mp40s set to eco back? That mode is mean’t for a 3rd or 4th pump on the back glass and it doesn’t do the same pulsing as the left or right powerheads would in the other modes. If you want a back and forth you need to find the right mode. I run reef crest but that’s not a wave maker mode that gives a back and forth sway.

Also I just noticed you're running "eco back"mode... Do you have pump(s) on back wall?

No pumps on the back wall just trying different settings as sync anti sync didn't seem to anything..

I only see one pump pic, you have another one? Im trying to see the correct way for sync anti- sync as the instructions are vague.

Have you tried having your pumps a little off set on the ends of the tank and then running pulse mode. You can fine tune the pulse length to get the most back and forth movement.

I cant seem to figure out the pulse mode where it will anti sync with the other mp40.. so one side will pulse and the other side nothing and vise versa

Is this what you're looking for?

I only see this type of movement in shallow surge zones dominated by gorgonians. Usually the SPS is deeper and not in an area with this type of flow.
