MP40s come on at 100% when power cycles for a minute.

I have two MP40QDs in Anti-Sync using Mobius.

If I blip the power to the MP40s when they first turn on they both run at 100% for like a minute and then it seems the profile loads and everything is fine. But, this minute at 100% is a bit undesired as you can imagine. Both power wheels are turned down all the way... I'm not sure how to resolve this but it would be greatly appreciated if anyone has any insight.

Its normal with mobius. Have you tried turning them down after you power cycle them to see if that works?

Actually what @Vapour1ze is seeing is not normal. I have been running 2 MP60's and 2MP40's for almost 3yrs and have cycled the power numerous times and the pumps will not run for approx 5-7 seconds when power is turned back on and after that delay time they go into there programed profile speed. I just tested that incase Ecotech changed something recently and no change. Works just fine. What used to happen but was corrected with a Mobius update and if I remember correctly also a Vortech product OS update, when doing a remove from tank and adding it back in, the Vortech would go into Constant Speed at 100%. I believe it did the same thing when doing a Hard Reset ( Factory Reset ) but not 100% sure on that one.

What Vortech Product OS are you running and what Firmware Version is your Mobius? Vortech's should be Product OS 2.3.1 and Mobius Firmware version should be 2.14 (87).
What you are seeing is not normal when you power down and bring power back up.

I just set up 2 MP40s and having the same issue. Running Mobius version 2.16(90) and product version 2.3.1 on the pumps. Anyone have any insight on this? These will be for sale soon if not.

When you pull the power plug on the controller and then plug it in are you saying the MP40 runs at 100% for a minute or so and then goes to programmed speed? My Mobius recently updated to 2.16(90) so I just now pulled the power and plugged it back in and it ran at a very low speed for about 5-10secs and then went into the programed speed. Both my MP40's are slave to one of my MP60's. If your not already running one of the pumps in Child try this: Set one of the pumps to Short Pulse lets say 50% and then set the other pump to Child anti-sync 100%. Let it run for a few seconds and then pull the power from the child pump and plug it back in and see what it does. It should run at approx 1% constant speed for 5-10secs then switch to the programed speed. Put your ear to the pump and you should hear it running slow in constant speed then switch to Short Pulse. At least that is what mine does when I just tested it.
Note: I am sure you are aware that you can not run Master/Slave in constant speed mode ( common sense tells you why lol). Also you should of noticed that when you first added your pumps ( one at a time ) to Mobius the pumps should of defaulted to Constant Speed Mode at 1%. If not then something has not loaded correctly. This feature was added awhile back because when you would add a pump to Mobius it used to go in Constant Speed at a high flow rate. Can't remember if it was 100% but it was much higher than the now 1%.
How are your pumps set up as far as modes go?

My MP40s did this once several months back and not sure why. I regularly cycle my power off to clean the tank and when I power back up no issues. I wonder if it was just a glitch during software update.

Sure did blow out all the junk though.

Then I named both left and right accordingly to placement. Left parent, right child running gyre mode. I have both plugged into a DJ strip. When simultaneously powering on both pumps, the left(parent) would start up at 100% for what seems like eternity but really it's only like 5 seconds. That then blasted some corals off the scape.
I switched parent/child between left and right and what's weird is the problem is still to the pump on the left. I feel the left controller is the issue. Not necessarily a parent/child issue. I'm going to open them up tomorrow and swap controllers with pumps and see if I can push the problem around and narrow it down to the control. Really kinda having buyers remorse. Shouldnt have to do this for what i paid for them. Maybe should have listened to the hydros fan boys and went with the reef octos pulse and wave engine.

In the video are the controllers running Master/Slave? The controller on the bottom looks like a normal power up sequence and the mode looks like you are in Constant Speed Mode not Gyre. Gyre is pink in color. Also with the latest updates over the past 6mo or so the pumps should not run at 100% if resetting the controller was done properly IMO. If I was having this issue this is what I would do: In Mobius go to settings then select devices. Remove both MP40's. On the controller do a Hard Reset ( Factory Reset ) NOT A SOFT RESET on one of the controllers. There is a big difference between the two. After the Hard Reset unplug the power to the controller. Do the same for the second MP40. After 30secs or longer ONLY plug in power to one MP40 and do the ADD DEVICE STEPS. After the adding device steps are complete for the first MP40 you can now do the same steps for the second MP40. It is important to do these steps in order as described according to Ecotech Customer Service. Unfortunately these steps are not documented completely in their literature.
