I just installed 2 Vortech MP40s in my 6 foot 125 gallon tank. I have them synched to run opposite of each other. They are both facing each other on the opposing ends of the tank. My tank is heavy in SPS with several acropora species. I am using the reef crest setting with them synched to run opposite of each other. How high should I have the max setting?

I'd enter you tank dimensions into Ecotech's website in their calculator and it should show how many gph you should have for SPS. Should be a good starting point.

I think you'll need them on as high as you can acceptably run them....the MP40's flow is weak past about 24" so you're going to have a bit of a dead zone in the center 12-24" of tank.

I know it's already a chunk of change at two pumps, but a third pump on the back wall in the center may be required.

Thanks for all the input. I have them going at roughly 75% max right now. I will ramp it up over the next few days. The center of my tank is open sand with a euphyllia garden. They seem happy with the flow. The MP40s replaced 4 Korellia 1500s. I am already noticing better polyp extension after just 1 day.
