I've searched and searched and seen a few good explanations. But still not sure what's best. Currently I have both MP40s on opposite ends of 4ft tank in antisync mode facing each other. Should I off set them though Sao they don't hit each other directly? How does WWC do it I know they have one on constant and one and reef crest but do they gave each other? Aren't they offset? Just trying to figure out what's most common I know it can be done just about any way cause every reef is different just trying to find the best starting point and move from there. And determine if anti sync or sync. Mode should be used.

Mine are directly across from each other about 3 inches below the water line.

Hmmm okay. Do you have syncd? Antisync? Or one on constant?
Anti sync. I run lagoon mode at several intensity throughout the day but mainly at 38%. The units are powerful and in my opinion, you don't need F5 tornado speed in the tank even for SPS. It's more about good overall movement in the tank. My DT is 65g so your set up will be higher intensity maybe 50% or little more in my opinion. Corals will show you the current and you can adjust accordingly. If sand mounds are forming on the bottom its probably to high then.

I should add that I have a mixed reef tank with SPS in the top third and LPS below that.

Gotcha okay that makes sense. Was just wondering if I should have them offset on either side or not and seems like it's working for you directly at each other.
I seem to get flow throughout the tank obviously higher in the top third. If I go 50% then I have a sandstorm in the bottom. The units are strong.

It also depends on your aquascape design. Certain designs may require some offset. I like mine closer to the surface so I get good water ripple for gas exchange and my SPS get the stronger direct flow.
