Okay... I know this is a little ridiculous.

I have an MP40 and an MP10 in my 40 breeder SPS, but I am upgrading soon to a 5'x2'x2' 150 gallon. Because of this, I just bought a MP60 to add the the ensemble. It is kind of hurting me keeping it dry while I wait for the 150 to be ready... Would it be stupid to set it up in my 40 breeder for the time being on a low setting?

I don't want a wave to overflow the tank...ha

Ha you sound like me. I would not be able to have it sit in the box either. You won't know till you try it out. With that said of course it will be waaay over kill :).

As long as you dont mind having a lot of flow that could potentially move sand around you should be okay. I had a 65 gallon that I ran 2 MP40s on with both running at 100% in pulse mode. The only issue I ran into was my sand moved around and ended up piled up at the ends of the tank. The corals loved the flow though.

You could try it, what's it gonna hurt? If at the lowest setting it's still too high take it out. I run 2 MP40s, a wQD and a wES in a 29 gallon standard. Highest setting I can go on either is 40%.
