Downdgraded from my 125 gal. Used my crushed coral, 1 piece of live rock and about 5 gal of water from my old tank. 10 lbs of BRS dry fiji rock. Kessil A150W lighting. HOB filter ( not sure what route I will go ) Koralia Nano power head. Jager heater. Cheato from my old fuge to add pods.

2 fireshrimp and 2 snails were added after about 2 weeks. I don't think I had a cycle but its been 4 weeks now all is good.

The fire shrimp were shy from the move but are starting to come out now :)

I'm currently looking for a nice smaller size mated pair of clownfish to pop up on Diver's Den.

Bought an MP10 :)

Tested my ALK today and it's 8Kh...

I have API test kits and I know I need to uprade to better test kits before I start adding corals.

For what it's worth, I find the API KH test much easier to read than the Red Sea alkalinity test. The API changes color very definitely but the Red Sea has you look at a range which I find confusing.

Has anyone had any luck with Ocellaris Clownfish hosting Euphyllia corals (torch, frogspawn... etc)?

I'm considering going that route cause i'm not sure a BTA is a good idea in a 11.4 gal? Please chime in...

Thinking about removing the HOB filter and maybe using it once or twice a month to run carbon. Right now my bio load is very low. Any experienced Nano-ers have any input?

Ok... totally removed all my rock because I was able to obtain some really mature live rock with some corals on it.

I will post some pics really soon...

I also decided to keep my HOB filter running with a half bag of Chemi Pure Elite and some filter floss. The tank is crystal clear :)

Very nice!

If anything keep the HOB and run a sponge as well to catch any large particles. Very nice tank.

Thanks! ...and thanks for your advice.

Here are the new pics as promised. A few changes....

1. New mature live rock with lots of life, mushrooms, and leather coral.

2. Traded large fireshrimp for smaller, way more active scarlett cleaner shrimp.

3. Some new corals... torch (hosting clownfish) and palys.

4. Pair of SA Fancy Ocellaris Clownfish.
