Mr Clean Magic eraser to clean acrylic? Really?

Thinking I may try this! The Mag float I have barely does anything to the coralline that I have, and it is even worse at the stuff in the corners.

Anyone tried this before? I'll try to pick one up this week and give it a go...

Yes, it works. I know that Ladypig (sp?) in the CMAS group was one of the original supporters. used it on her acrylic tank for years with no issues. I have used it on my glass tank too and it seems to take longer than usual for coraline and algae build up on my glass after that.

Yes, the original magic eraser doesn't have any additives in it. It's basically like a micro-sand paper - that's how it is able to scour anything.

I have used it a number of times in my reef without any issues at all.

I used it last night. It isn't 'magic' and after scrubbing for about 20 minutes, I had made some progress. More than my scraper and Mag floats did at least. Make sure you get the 'original' ones, not the scented or anti-bacterial.

Note to self, destroy all coralline as it appears, not after it has gotten firmly attached. Lesson learned.

I use the Magic Eraser almost exclusively on my glass tanks, and have for several months. You will have to use a blade to remove coralline deposits, but the Eraser cleans algae, particularly out of small scratches, like nothing else.

I tried it on my glass tank. I think for glass I'll stick with a razor mostly, but the eraser DID work really good for the corners where I can't use a razor! I can see where it would be awesome for acrylic though.
