I'm not usually on Reef2Reef but wanted to throw my feedback on here. Bought a nice SPS frag pack, all the pieces looked primo and I couldn't be happier with my order. The polyps were out within 20 mins in the tank.

Here's the package opened:

How they came packed:

After I separated each frag bag:

And free at last in my tank:

Great stuff Mr. Coral and a steal of a price!

Will do! They don't look stressed at all from the journey and look great. I'll update down the line once they start coloring back up and encrusting.

That's pretty cool, he's been telling me for months he's out of Milli's.

I have only 2 left. I have over 65 sps frags from various local hobbiest, online stores, and local fish stores. Sadly, 6 out of the original 8 I received from Mr. Coral RTN'ed at various times in the last month and a half. Suprisingly, only one other frag out of my entire collection besides these RTN'ed on me.

I think a recovery period prior to shipping would have helped the frags survival chances. The stock seemed to be of great quality and the frags looked healthy when they arrived but possibly 2 weeks of heal time before shipping would have increased their long-term chances of survival 10-fold and possibly slightly larger frags then the size received.

Again, it works in the short-term but i think long-term, they would have survived better. 6 out of 8 of this frag pack RTN'ED and the rest of my 65+ frags survived and encrusted with only 1 other frag dying are pretty skewed numbers.

Heh I was going to say from that first picture before you even posted this today "wow, those are some FRESH cut frags" and I would have been super disappointed with that. It doesn't even look like they had more than 24 hours between cutting and shipping. Sorry to hear about you losing 6 of them - especially considering millies are usually pretty tough. Definitely a testament to the value of healing frags for a week or two - 80% mortality vs 1.75% mortality... It's like comparing ebola to the flu!

I wanted to be objective with it. The quality was nice and they looked healthy when they arrive but probably 2 weeks of recovery and maybe larger frag sizes would have helped them make the transition better. If it was my tank conditions, then I would assume the 65 other frags would have seen some loss as well. I hope he takes this as some good feedback to perhaps change some procedural steps with sending out frags as I thought the quality and price were great.

frag size doesnt matter nearly as much as the fact that those were cut and shipped in the same day.

Agreed! Though it would have been nice to have a larger frag to see the stn/rtn coming and possibly try to cut in time to save it. Lesson learned I guess.
