Hello All,

I've been a long time reader of R2R and have been active in the Club Zoa and SPS Forums for a while, but haven't bothered to build a tank thread here yet. Today's the day!

My tank started back in Feburary of 2012.

Here it is today:

Equipment
DT: Mr. Aqua 18 inch cube
Sumpfugium: Mr. Aqua 12 inch cube
Return Pump: Mag Drive 3
Heater: 100 watt Aqueon Pro x2
Heater Controller: Finnex Max300
Filtration: TLF Phosban Reactor 150, BRS Phosban, BRS Carbon ROX 8.0
Skimmer: Bubble Magus NAC3
Circulation: MP10
Lighting: DIY LED with Boost LED Typhon Controller
CO2 Scrubber: BRS Air Filter + BRS Soda Lime media
Stand: Custom built with white acrylic

Reefcleaners Florida Reef Rock (pillar made with fiberglass rods and 1/2" acrylic base)
BRS Pukani and Tonga Branch
Tropic Eden Reef Flakes sand

CO2 Scrubber tied into the skimmer air intake keeps pH nice and high. Especially in the cold winter/hot summer months when the windows are closed all the time:

What differences have you noticed with the CO2 scrubber? How much media do you go through a month and when do you know to change it? I suffer from low PH as well.

Thanks serpent!

My pH went from a consistent 7.8-8.0 to 8.3 within a couple days. It seems to have really improved growth in my SPS. I have to change the media about every two months. It changes color as it's used up from white to purple and cascades from the bottom of the filter up to the top. I change it when it all turns purple. You can get the stuff from BRS. In my pictures at the top, you can see the color change. I increased the contrast on that pic to illustrate the color change. The purple color is a bit more subtle than that, but very apparent. Here's how I have it hooked up to my skimmer. The red stuff is a self sticking sealing tape used to make quick fixes for automotive hoses and such.

Thanks revh! I feel I've reached reefing level 3. Too bad there's like 12 more levels to master. Now, if only there were some cheat codes for this game.

Thanks Duffam! Yep. Gold Torch. Started out as one head. It's about three now. I planned this rockscape with the intention of putting a torch there for the clowns to host. Perhaps, I'll attempt a nem or two with the next tank.
The acans have been a lot of fun. They all stared as like two heads. It's amazing how fast they grow.
