MRC MR2 with a Mag 18 with the needle wheel

I was wondering if there would be any benefit in using a Mag 18 with the needle wheel/ venturi option on a beckett skimmer like a MRC MR2?


Have you heard of anyone trying it, or is it not worth the effort?

Bubbles disrupt the beckett / venture action. That is, bubbles entering the beckett will reduce bubble formation from the beckett. Sounds crazy, but that' how it works.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping for a finer foam. Any thoughts on if two becketts from one pump is better than one beckett from the same pump?

My MRC MR-6R has 2 becketts I'm running a reeflo hammerhead gold as the recirculation pump the amount fine bubbles it creates is amazing. My friend has a smaller one with just one beckett and has trouble getting very fine bubbles if the beckett isn't cleaned often.

Thanks for the input. Mine is not a recirc model. But I'll try it out both ways to see if there is a noticeable difference.
