I recently picked up a gently used but excellent condition skimmer .

Single becket .
After plumbing into my return and running the skimmer as a external skimmer .

I can get a few bubbles but there is about 1” of water in the air chamber .
It rattles a little but will not create any foam .

I installed a T in my return line . Only using a 1300 gph pump as return and skimmer supply .

Thinking that’s possibly the issue ( not enough flow ?

Any suggestions or tips would be great .

Thanks in advance

What pump are you using to recirculate water through the Beckett?

Pictures would help. Sounds like you my not have it connected properly. The MRC recirculating skimmers need two pumps, one to feed the skimmer and a second to recirculate water through the injector. Beckett injectors need high pressure pumps to work.

I’m not too sure how to attach a picture ....
I think I don’t have enough flow . I’m picking up another submersible pump tomorrow to use strictly for this skimmer .

As soon as this is working .
The bubble Magnus garbage I wasted my money on will be disposed of

I’ve long experience with Beckett driven skimmer. Frankly, they’re something of a pain in the petard. Most of them I swapped for mazzei injectors. Beckett’s require sizable pumps, ideally intended for pressure applications. Pumps like iwaki, PanWorld, etc. A submersible pump might work, though probably the current crop of DC pumps will underwhelm. Either way, you need a dedicated pump for the recirculation loop. Teeing off from your return pumps will not work .... as you have discovered.

Next question regarding the same skimmer .
Is there somewhere that still sells the additional Beckett or replacement parts ?
