I bought an old used setup amd it came with this skimmer. I know it is an old MFC but beyond that i ak clueless. I have googled and searched most everywhere and I cant find this model. I am wondering if this would work on a 300gal system and if so some guidance to an instruction manual. This thing is a beast but i feel somethong is missing. Thanks.

Maybe if you give the cone height and the pump gph you can compare to other 300 gallon systems.. free bump

Looks like you need a feed pump to put water into the skimmer.

Typically 2-4 tank volumes per hour is a good flow rate for the feed pump, but I would give myself that range of options in whatever pump you select so you have room to "dial it in". (Something with a flow cotrol built in, or plumbed with a gate- or ball-valve.)

Truely classic Quiet One pump there on recirculation duty!
