Hello everyone!
Had a 3 year hiatus from the hobby due to severe health issues. I had a fish room with 22 tanks of various sizes. I did planted aquaria, bred cichlids (hence the Firemouth moniker) and propagated corals with frag tanks and my 300g display tank!
I had to sell everything and take a break. I have lupus and was literally dying. I went into systemic failure and my body was slowly shutting down. My body was bruised 80%, my eyeballs were blood filled, my liver and kidneys were failing, my muscles began to atrophy, and my lungs dropped to 20% efficiency. I took some new meds and over a rough 4 months I began to get better. A year later and I was back to almost normal. Permanent damage was the tendons in my knees and ankles. I have to wear steel braces now but get to park up close with handicap plates lol.
The event was too much for my 20 yr marriage so I’m divorced and struggling on single income and paying child support. But I’m getting my health and life back. I hit the gym almost every day
I was gifted a 24g biocube complete setup. As I slowly save some cash I’ll purchase the essentials like tap water filters, test kits, new bulbs, salts, and additives along with filter media. Once I obtain all the essentials I’ll start to set up the cube with a rockscape and slowly go from there.
I plan to have soft corals, rock anemones, maxi minis carpet anemones, and long tentacle LPS and acans or chalices or both. It should be amazing by next Christmas. I have no choice but to be extremely patient as I’m really cash strapped but it should be a fun endeavor.
I’ll start a build thread once I get going but in the meantime am going to enjoy everyone else’s tanks
Thanks
-Rich
