MSK 900 skimmer Noise help

Hi. I am new to salt water aquariums. I am currently cycling my tank for the first time. I realized the skimmer was not on so put it on today.
It is very loud. I am trying to see if it is normal or if there is a way to fix it.

I can hear it across the house.
The skimmer I have is the MSK 900 skimmer

Should I get I different skimmer?

The skimmer got a lot quieter after running for a few days…

Skimmers can take a while to get died in. Should quiet down... Maybe make sure the water level is correct?
