Russell (gprussellj) - 55 gallon setup - 3 years in the hobby
Announce who the BOD members are:

Justin - “Salinity”
Magnesium, Potassium, etc. are all salt based or a salt of some type
Salinity is a measure of all the salts combined
Specific Gravity and salinity are different
SG is the measure of water density
1.024 @ 80 degrees F = 30ppt
1.024 @ 82 degrees F = 35.4ppt
Most want to shoot for 35 ppt
1873-1876 William Dittmar sampled water of all the oceans around the world. Salinity differs greatly but the ionic balance of parameters was always the same
