Mucous?

My tank has been experiencing a mucous build up lately. From BTA? Filter socks are clogged within a day. I even scoop it out of sump with a net. Skimmer needs cleaning daily. Is there any way to slow or eliminate?

Sounds like a bacterial bloom. Are you dosing a carbon source of any kind or is it a new tank?

Dosing vinegar.
