Dear,

I am very new to saltwater hobby.

My nano 90L tank is 6 months old.

I used to have mantis shrimp. It died recently.

So I bought 1 dart fish( its not clear which species as per my LFS its neon goby, from Maldives, I live in india, the closest thing I can find from internet is blue gudgeon dart fish attached pic from internet, mine are almost same without black marking in the tail) and 2 golden trevally fish(1.5 Inch) .

Now daily morning my filter intake is clogged with mucus.... But I couldn't identify dart fish or the golden trevally producing it?

Anyone have any idea does a dart fish / golden trevally produce mucus cocoon?

Do you have pictures of the mucus and setup? What other livestock do you have?
Somewhat unrelated but the golden trevally (Gnathanodon speciosus) max out at nearly four feet long, so you will have to relocate them in the future (not into the ocean, as this risks releasing nonnative pathogens).

Thanks for the reply.

90L tank
1 dart fish
2 golden trevally
2 hermit crab
With Argonite sand and 5Kg limestone rock.

Thats all.

I am outside of town. Will go back in 2 days. I will post pic then.

Golden trevally, I bought it for my friend, but I have them for some time (as they are cute) , then I will transfer to my friends set up... He has 55gallon tank.
