Hi all,

A week ago, my Red Velvet Fairy Wrasse presented with small white spots that looked like ich. Looking at other tank mates Flame Hawkfish and Royal Gramma also had some spots.

I already had 3 Blue Green Chromis in QT so I immediately pulled the 3 fish from my display tank and they joined the Chromis. I started treatment with NLS Ich Shield. This seemed to be working as the spots on all 3 fish went away.

Yesterday when Ingot home from work I noticed the wrasse had excess mucus on its pectoral fins, enough so that it has made it difficult for it to swim as usual. All other fish in QT look good and are eating.

I decided to change treatment to copper so last night I started running copper to pull the Ich Shield out, will do a water change today, then dose Cupramine.

Any ideas what this could be?
Should I be doing anything else?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Did you see this soon after you turned the lights on? Could just be secretion from his mucus cocoon, which they sleep in.

@Humblefish thanks for the reply. I don't think that it is from its mucus cocoon. The long strand of mucus has come off but the pectoral fins are looking a bit ragged and his other fins aren't as "sharp" as they once were.

Here is a video I took a few minutes ago.

I should add that I'm in Kuwait and it's already noon here. Currently 7 hours ahead of EST.

@Humblefish, Looks like right now it is just the fins, the spots that were the reason for going into QT have gone away. Looking at some pictures online, it looks like the Flame Hawkfish may have had flukes but the spots have gone away. Maybe they spread.....

I think I can find Seachem Kanaplex but that's a maybe. Until I find the antibiotics I'll treat with a round of Prazipro and see if that makes a difference. I'll search the fish stores tomorrow.

Hopefully this plan of action will work.
