I recently got a toadstool coral and for the first day in my tank it was fine. My parameters were all in check and then the second day it has closed up and started producing a slime on top. I searched this up and apparently it's normal to get rid of anything on it but I wanna be safe than sorry.
(The Shiny stuff is the mucus, it's hard to tell in the picture but it's pretty much being excreted from all around the corals top.)
