Mud or Sand

Any opinions out there on mud or sand for a refugium?

What corals do you plan to keep? For primarily a soft coral/ LPS tank I'd go with Miracle Mud. For a tank that will have SPS I would go barebottom with Chaeto and maybe a few rock rubble.

I have a pretty equal mixed reef right now. Might just go bare bottom with rubble for the pods for now and see how that goes. It's going to be a pretty small fige anyways so that will save me some water volume.

+1 only suggested add would be a Marinepure 8 x 8 block. Works real nice on the nitrates and my pods are multiplying like crazy.

thats the setup im running. What pods did you put in? And will the pods live inside the block? Tahnks

Been using the 5280 pods from Algaebarn. Sure seems like they live in the block. But I've also added Sea Lettuce from Algaebarn to the sump. I like it a lot.
