Work at an LFS and we recently got in a fairly large mudskipper. I don’t know exactly how he showed up, but he was given to us in one of those crappy tanks they keep hermit crabs in. He’s been eating well (didn’t know they had huge fangs) and likes to walk around on the little island he has. What would you consider the preferred setup for this guy? I’m thinking of doing a 20 long mudflat style tank. Maybe get some Mangrove sprouts? Any advice? Was also wondering what the deal with filtration is with these guys. From my research, i’ve seen several keep them in unfiltered muddy water, is this what they like? Any help is appreciated

I haven't kept them, but belong to a group where a number of people do. They mostly appear to be in large planted vivariums with clean fresh water. I think mangroves would be cool.
