mufflers or silencers

i bought the coralife filter and skimmer combo....its loud, they have admitted wrong and wont help by sending me the upgrade silencer, they wanna charge me. nice skimmer, heck of a job, but noisy, and ways or tricks to stop the noise i really dont wanna give them the satisfaction of buying a part that they should honor, since i havent had it a week...any thoughts, local stores here just dont carry parts of that nature.....thnxs

If I had to make one, I would first look at large pill bottles.

I have used the muffler from the coralife super skimmers it works well.
