Hi I currently have a 225gal, a 90 gal, and a 125 gal. Within the next few months there is a chance we will be adding a 180 for a fish only system. My 225 has a basement sump that also has a frag tank and clown breeder/refugium tank hooked in to one system lately I've been thinking about adding another 100gal rubbermaid sump and tying in all the systems into one. This would give me approximately 600 gallons. The only issue is that if I have an issue with one tank it could wipe out everything. However i like the fact that i could run 1 skimmer 1 cal reactor and have 1 main system that i would have to maintain instead of 3 so only 1 larger water change instead of 3. What do you guys think would the benifit out weigh the risk or should I leave them all seperate. I would also be running a large uv sterilizer on it to hopefully stop any water born issues before they arise.

Ahh...The Intimidator! Miss the days of #3.

Water stability comes to mind with combining them all...and being able to do one big water change instead of a bunch of smaller ones. I only see benefits with combining them in the long run if possible.

Pros and cons. I have all my tanks tied into a single sump - 450 display, 120 FOWLR/refugium, 60 frag and 20 RDSB. Make sure the sump can handle all the drain down obviously.

Yea I see mostly benifits the only thing that has me nervous is that 1 thing could wipe out all three tanks instead of just 1
