Should I kiss my zoanthids good bye with these fish?

Longevity you've kept them as a group, Im talking small group, like 3?

I have a Lamarks angel, see any problems here?

Please feel free to add any other info on this species and by all means post some pics.

I don't have one, but do have an Venustus angel, which is sometimes grouped with the multibar in the Paracentropyge genus.

Anyways, mine hasn't touched any of my zoas, and I still have PE on my SPS. However, like every other dwarf I have had, it loves fleshy LPS. A year ago I had mine with a multicolored angel and a coral beauty --- didn't have any real issues, though with a Venustus being a shy angel (( similar to a multbarred )), it wasn't out as much as it is now -- being the only dwarf.

Well I have a flame angel and a coral beauty together and they don't touch anything so I would say it will depend on the fish.

They are rather shy. They are also very hit or miss, in terms of eating or dieing. Stick with the Fiji caught ones. If it's anything else, don't buy it. You should also expect to have to feed it live clams on the half shell in order for it to start eating.

im gonna bump this. I am experienced reefer with a well seasoned tank, just got two of these guys from the marshall islands a few days ago. been trying lots of different foods and still no luck. There are live sponges in the tank and tons of pods, they are picking off the LR but like i said no luck with the prepared foods. looking for any suggestions for these finicky little dudes

I've tried:
mysis (soaked in garlic and plain)
brine (soaked in garlic and plain)
different sized pellets
flakes
mega-marine angel mix
clams on the half-shell (soaked in garlic and plain)

no interest in any of those. no one locally has live brine and reefpaste isnt sold in the U.S. any one got any suggestions?

I forgot I've also tried
Rotifers
Cyclops
Emerald entree (in the water column and smashed in the rocks)

I've got a friend who just picked up a multi-bar last week and it's been in quarantine and has not eaten yet. He's tried most of what you listed here as well. I'll be following along for him...

well i think these guys are doomed. bough arcti-pods and a store finally got live brine in. didnt take either. glanced at the brine and kept pickin on the rocks

heres a cell pic of the juvenile to hold you over

Beautiful little fish, one of my all time favorites.

Thanks guys!

Agreed Bret, I'm so happy these dudes are eating now. Hopefully they live a log happy life in my reef and continue to ignore the coral!

i have rarely owned dwarf angels, but i've had flames, coral beauties, potters, bi-colors & lemon peel. i always struggled on having them eat, but eventually they would do as my tangs did & eat sea veggies off a veggie clip, monkey see, monkey do. from my experience with them, it's keeping them with a full stomach. the only angels that picked on coral, were the bi-color & lemon peel. both only picked on my LPS, mainly acans & lobos. everything else, they left alone. they also made their rounds, around my LR for live pods. that's my observation of these guys, but all of them loved their veggies. good luck & happy reefing!
