Multicolor or Venustus angel?

Todd (Trex).. thanks again for your input on which one to put in the display tank. :)

Marvin, hit up Scott at Unique Corals. I was at the wholesalers in LAX this weekend and there were a bunch of Multicolors that came in. Scott may be able to hook you up with one for a better price.

Thanks Dave. the $115 is actually "shipped" already. and have been in captivity for 2 months. the thing I'm concern about with a wholesaler is I know the Multicolor can be pretty picky with food.

I appreciate the help again.

I have a Venustus Angelfish and it is my second fav fish behind my Africanus Angel. When I got the Venustus it wouldn't eat for like a week but finally after trying just about everything it started eating. I think personally if you want a more unique fish go with the Venustus.
how long have you had her now? what do you currently feed?

Sure thing, been glad to help.

All of my dwarf eat the same things; Rod's Food (( green, blue and red labels )) LifeLine's Herbivore mix (( use that the most )), Prime Reef, PE Mysis, Angel formula, and Spectrum pellets (( more of a snack when I am walking by the tank and they are begging :) ))

Good deal. :)

When you get a chance, upload some updated vids. ;)

Funny enough, I was looking through some old ones and thinking the same thing. Will do my best to do that over the next week. (( need to clean the tanks first ;) ))

Wow, that is quite a difference.

Here is mine from just the other day,

Though in this shot it is a bit lighter -- from the same "photo shoot"

The pigment darkens under strong illumination

Poomba,

If there was a way to catch him I'm happy to give him away. Scott Fellman is itching for me to catch him. But with close to 1000lbs of rock in my tank and it fully packed with corals, anything that goes in the tank stays in the tank.

Well ill just have to stalk your posts if you ever do a teardown....

Have you ever spoken to copps or dr. Rocha about this fish?

Just to share my experience with the Multicolors. I have a pair that spawn every night about 10 min before lights out. I started with a trio of very small fish in QT. Once they got established and settled in, the one that eventually became the male took off in growth. Once the change took place, the pair then killed the 3rd. Aftera few months in QT I moved them to the display tank.

They eat all foods including pellets and are very gregarious, not shy at all. In fact, when I later added a Multibar to the tank which was likely a coupe inches bigger than the male, he was very aggressive for a coupe of days.

As mentioned, they now spawn daily and it is fun to watch the whole courting process.

Having kept a Venustus in the past, I will tell you these are much easier to keep as well as not as shy.

Here are a coupe of older pics, I will see if I can get some recent shots.

Thanks again for all the input. I really enjoy seeing the pics of your multicolors and Venustus. I'm really gonna look into angels in general when I set up a FOWLR tank. :)

Maybe this will help (( or make things harder ;) ))
