Is it a bad idea to try to house 2 dwarf Angels in a 180 together? Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm guessing I won't be able to QT them together though huh? I only have a 40breeder for a QT tank

They should be fine, but if you're worried, just make a tank divider out of eggcrate.

IME you have less aggression issues in smaller confined tanks with dwarf Angels and even tans than you do in larger tanks. I suspect it's because no one can stake out a territory in a crowded smaller tank.

But yes multiple dwarf Angels can work just fine. 3 is better than 2 but 2 can be done

Oh really? So with any groups of fish I plan to have are odd numbers always better than even?

Yes, the majority of the time from what I understand if they're not mated pairs when u get them. Also I have 3 dwarf angels together with no problems so far.

300 gallon-coral beauty,lemon peel, and flame angel

I have a Rusty and Lamarks in my 240g. I tried adding a Flame and the Rusty was all over it immediately. Chased it around relentlessly and pecked at it until I finally had to catch it. The Lamarks did not care at all. I think the "adding at the same time" idea is the way to go.

I once housed 6 dwarf angels in just a 150 gal; added at different times. Skirmishes were frequent but nothing too serious. The Lemonpeel was the boss of them all. ;)

What you gotta recognize is the difference between a skirmish and a homicidal rampage. I once had a Flameback that was on a mission to kill a Cherub. When that happens, one of them has to go (preferably, the aggressor.) They are pretty easy to catch if you bait a fish trap with a frozen clam or mussel.

Which ones are you considering?

Back when my 65 was up, I had a Flame, Coral Beauty and multicolored --- together for 3+ years.

When my 210 I had a flameback and an C. venustus were together without issue.

Currently the Coral Beauty and Flame (( Lost the multicolored during the move )) are on the left side of a 75, and the flameback and C. venustus are on the right side (( separated by egg crate --- the tank is at my future mother in laws place, and didn't want any issues with me not living there; in the process of selling/buying a new place ))

Have mixed dwarf angels for the last 15 years now, there have been issues from time to time -- mainly a Potters and Golden, so one has to always have a back up plan and ready to act upon it.

I definitely want a flame angel. Then any combo of 2 of the following: potters, coral beauty, eibl's, or flame back

I have 2 potters in a 40g with 2 seahorses. Not a single problem. Each fish is different. I would think you would get as many bad experiences as the good ones. I definitely didn't go by the feet to inch rule. But to each his own.

Any issues with them nipping corals from anyone here? When they say "nipping" just how bad do they mean? Totally killing the coral? Temporarily annoying it? I can live with them ticking them off every now and again but not killing them off one by one type deal

Some don't nip, some don't nip at first, but then nip later, some only 'taste' corals, some kill certain corals, some will eat any coral you put in immediately. No rhyme or reason. Any angel can pick any coral at any time.
