I added 3 purple firefish to my 180 reef and now I have 2 purple firefish. It took about a month + but now these beautiful fish are out 80% of the time but close to their hiding spot. I love the way they dart in and out of the rocks... to me it really looks like the ocean with these small fish coming in an out...

so my question is what if I added 5 more purple firefish to my 180 gallon reef? I assume they might kill off the weakest... but could a group of them all live together? I have 5 blue chromis and they said this would reduce to 1 but I have had 5 for years?

Other fish in 180 reef:
blue tang with small amounts of ich left
Yellow tang
flame angel
flameback angel
vrotech wrasse
2 percula clowns
5 blue / green chromis
2 bobies
1 sasha goby
1 green spotted mandarin
1 green mandarin
1 red lyretail anthias male (+3 females)
1 red linkia starfish
1 sand sifting star

Will this work?

The firefish and the chromis will both very very likely whittle themselves down until there is only one left of each, sorry. I'd strongly recommend against it.

I have had the chromes for 5 years? Can the same happen with fire fish? Hmmm

Recommend not… sounds like youve got a pair already and they killed the other. You got lucky with the pair, l would advise against adding more
