My building it throwing these out 24 inch single bulb t5 fixtures. I was thinking is it possible to combine 4 individual fixtures together so I can create a canopy for them with some led lights for a hybid setup?

yeah you could do that. They probably just are standard T-5 and not the T-5ho that most of us use. The wattages for standard T5 lamps are 14, 21, 28, and 35 watts. The high-output T5 (T5 HO) lamps are available in 24, 39, 54, and 80 watts. I believe you could use HO bulbs in an NO fixture, but I do not know what affect it would have on bulb performance. I do not know what type of reef type spectrum bulbs are out there in standard NO bulbs.

I dont think you should put t5ho tubes in a t5no lamp. The ballast in these fixtures are matched to the output of the lamp.

If you simply google search the question you will find discussions regarding this. You can indeed do it in most circumstances, it simply effects the performance of the bulb.

The real problem is finding NO bulbs in the correct color spectrum for a reef tank.
