Recently got a hairy green mushroom but it drifted into the powerhead and got shredded. There’s a big hole in the middle of it now, can it still survive?

I usually say mushrooms are pretty resilient but that hole looks like it's through its mouth.

Low flow low light and possibly in a mushroom cage will help it live.

I’ve put it in a small plastic cup and put it in a corner of the tank for now, will that do as a diy mushroom cage?

If it doesn't become infected it will survive. Ive cut mushrooms into 4 pieces in order to propagate them. be careful with too low of flow all corals need some sort of water circulation to keep them alive. I usually have a perforated cup with gravel at the bottom. once the mushroom heals it will grab a peice of gravel and them you can superglue it wherever you want the shroom.

I think I’ll get a new plastic cup and drill some holes in it then, thanks.

Current DIY mushroom cage, sides have large holes to let in flow. Any improvements or more steps I can take like iodine dipping?
