So guys iv decided I want corals. I'm gonna start with soft corals ie mushroom. What do I need do I need calcium magnesium and all that's or are these corals more forgiving.

I had mushrooms in my tank along with a couple of leathers. Never checked mag or cal. They did fine. Just do water changes. I've recently started with LPS so now I'm checking all levels. Good luck.

Is you want them to grow fast and look great. Then bring some attention to you KH and nitrates. Leathers and mushrooms feed themselves with nitrates but a little around 0-2. NOT more else your system will get some trouble. And all kinds of corals use KH even coraline algae. Just keep it between 8-10 that will be good enough. Have fun!

regular water changes should be enough. my 120 gal. is full of softies and lps and I never dose. if you get into sps, then you will have to start testing and probably dosing.

Good advice from the above. Softies use less of those nutrients but its a good habit/skill to get down for overall tank health.
And also you will be getting more corals. Jus sayin:D

I just got this Ricordea Yuma and absolutely love it. Only had it for two days but it looks bigger already and has taken food from direct feeding. My nitrates hover around 5ppm.

I love the looks of it! Highly recommend.
