So I had 2 of these mushrooms don’t know which type they are. Few weeks ago one disappeared and I found it in the sand. When I took it out it was all white and as hard as a rock ? Do mushrooms normally do this? I assumed it died and I just place the remaining piece inside one of my LR. I noticed today that it’s going slightly green again? Is it just algae growing on the dead shroom? And so they normally die and turn to stone?

If mushrooms die, they usually just disintegrate into mush. However, they can leave part of a foot behind and it will grow into a new mushroom. Sometimes they actually detach and get stuck under rocks and such to appear later or die lonely.

If you found a stone, it was not the shroom. However you may have found it when it was all bundled into a ball and it would be still soft, not hard. Those are a discosoma sp. Sorry you lost them.

It was 100% the mushroom it was broken into 2 pieces it still had the central mouth and was the same shape but it was ice white and rock hard?

Not sure what else it could be because it was directly under where the mushrooms sat aswell

Mushrooms won't turn rock hard. They "melt", or detach and reattach somewhere in your aquarium. What you are seeing is what as underneath, rock or calcium carbonate.
