Good evening Reefers , I have acquired a new tank that came with a green mushroom

Recently I have placed a Speckled tip anemone and I’m wondering if I can move the mushroom without hurting it.

Just as of yesterday It has stated to curl upwards toward the light ? I have near the bottom and it’s been fine for months, I’m curious as to if it’s starting to move or mad with the anemone near it?

if some more experienced peeps can let me know what kind of mushroom I have and what my options are. Thanks a mil

quick pic this evening (I’ll post clearly one in the AM)

green rhodactis. Is it attached onto the rock or is it in a disk or frag plug? If it is attached on the rock if u can, take the rock out and use a bone cutter and cut the around the rock it is attached to. Or maybe it is reaching up to get more light. Did u change anything with ur light? And is the anemone stinging it?

It looks to be a standard Neon Green Rhodactis sp.
I wouldn't stress about it as it looks fine. Some nems will kill shrooms, some won't, but the BTA's are pretty aggressive. The shrooms are less motile than the BTA. I would let it ride for a bit. If there are CLEAR signs of warfare then move the shrooms. To be safe, you can always move them now. you can certainly move it up a bit but make changes slowly. These guys are fairly hardy and adaptable.

Thanks for your help , and it is not attached to a plug but it is in between (2) rocks , and it is for sure attached to the rocks , I’ll see what I can do about possible moving it with the smaller rock and using cutter of some sort.

TBH I don’t know why it’s reaching up , the light schedule has been the same but over the last 3-4 days one side is now bending up?? And the anemone is touching the mushroom so I’m thinking that might be why but I’m hoping as with all anemone it keeps moving and finds a spot not touching the rhodactis..

But If worst comes and the anemone stays close , it’s probably best I move the mushroom ?

Sounds good , is the any problem moving the mushroom up toward top of my tank away from harms way , closer to the light ? (Using an AI prime HD)

I mean if its touching it now just move it lol. U can put it on ur sand bed and wait for the nem to find a spot then u can glue it back on ur rock.

I don't see any problem with that. What percentage u running?

Just running the standard David saxby (signature) preset , nothing to crazy.

And I’ll probably take your guys advice and move it tomorrow when lights come on and wait for the nem to find it’s spot , that way I won’t have to worry about the rhodactis withering on me.

Usually not a problem. Just might end up looking different.
For example, this first photo is of the exact same shrooms.

Here is the best picture I can get , I moved the mushroom and seems to be good but still reaching up
