Hi, I bought this rock from a local hobbyist for the liams cloves. But it came with the mushroom. Didn't really want it but it doesn't look bad. Does anyone know what it is? And should I cut off the baby mushrooms growing at the base of my liams cloves? Is it better if I cut the liams cloves off and place on a new rock? thanks

It won't hurt anything, if that's your concern. Just looks like a regular discosoma family mushroom. Easy to grow, not aggressive.

Agreed, no harm in having both zoas and mushrooms together. I have some Zoas and mushrooms on a rock where they grow on top of each other

Thanks, I'll let it ride out. But are the zoas and mushrooms going to affect the liams clove polyps? They were the whole reason I bought the rock!

It's the other way around. The clove polyps will invade the mushroom and zoas. They will sting other corals in its surroundings.
