Just curious since I remember seeing this species for $40-200 max 2-3 yrs ago (except the Maui wowwi) and now people are asking 200-600

but I mean of course the 600 one looks better lol

yeah ,1st was indo shutdown price up,now shipping :rolleyes:corals are about double in 3 yrs

But don’t vendors boast “we been cooking these ***** corals for a long time”?

also funny thing. This zoa, I’m sure some of us have seen it a few times already, and while one vendor claims it to be recently imported, another said it’s one they been cooking and another one said it “morphed”. The price is all over the place, 200, 300, 500

And honestly, I couldn’t tell the difference between them

Could be indo but could also be Tonga. Impossible to know for sure unless you have a relationship with an importer and they get them in. You're correct. Ive seen these in one variation or another from just about every vendor that gets fresh shipments.

Cooking for "a long time" is all relative. A month to some is a long time, remember plus it's another common marketing gimmick.

Yes it does seem like alot of different variations of these same species shrooms are floating around.
Its not Reverse Maui but def looks same species.
@fishguy242 who is still exporting? I know alot of exporters are shut down and the ones that can still export is like you said super expensive to shipping.
That could narrow down region though.

Yes Vietnam still is or was when they could get permits after pandemic started. I like the Vietnam shrooms. Seems like indo and aussie are top exporters nowadays.

what are some examples of vietnam mushrooms? I actually considered trans-shipping a Ultra box of mushroom from there. they said its mainly ricordea tho but I tend to lean towards rhodatis more

Reef Builders did a good write up.
As well as a quick Google search you can find all kinds of Vietnam mushrooms that are bringing the fire. Think I read somewhere that maybe original bounce shrooms came out of Vietnam.
Anyhow my wife follows a diver/exporter from Vietnam and they typically post shrooms that are already bouncing bubbles when they pluck them from ocean.
I'll see if I can figure out how to post the diver here.
Or quick search on Instagram for Vietnam wholesale would probably find it for you.
