Mushroom in a blender

I was told you can chop/blend up mushrooms and then dump them in your tank and they will survive and grow. Has anyone else heard this before or know someone who tired it?

I wouldnt....besides they ll spread fast enough on thier own...

If you want to cut up mushrooms use scissors to cut them in half or into quarters.. think I can confidently say pulverizing them in a blender will not work.

I would highly recommend in not doing that. Like others have stated, they grow rather quickly.

They do grow quickly enough.

Yes, the blender works some of the time. It's disgusting and you have to have a QT to keep the water in your main tank clear of the mess. I would highly suggest you not do it.

We grated them once with a box grater and it worked better.

Remember, when fragging mushrooms, wedding veil is your friend.

What is the most effective way to frag mushrooms? I've got a big one now but it refuses to divide itself. It's about 3" in diameter

Kind of like goldfish will survive anything like toilet water.

@gary , There are utude videos on how mostly the cut one in quarters trying to get a piece of the mouth. Then placing them on a plug & cover with fine cloth like wedding vale.
