Mushroom looks inside out

What causes a mushroom to look like this? This is my green Rhodactis mushroom. Never seen this happen until now

I guess something just irritated it. It is coming back out now. I always thought they just shrank up really small

He was probably eating. That’s what they do when they eat.

Agreed, very likely was eating something. Nice looking shroom!
