Mushroom outgrowing plug

I’m not sure where I read it but I read that you’re supposed to move a mushroom to a bigger plug for it to keep growing is this true ? I have a bounce shroom that has completely overgrown the plug

You can put the existing plug on a new larger one and let things take their course
