thanks! i did recently find out my thermometer was off by 8 degrees for quite a while.. my water was at 72 degrees for about 2 months without me knowing so i put a heater in there and raised it to 78/79. maybe it’s because i raised it to normal parameters within 24hrs?Looks like it may be expelling its zooxanthellae.
how do you think i should go about the temp? raise 1 degree a day maybe? i just feel like 72 is less manageable and tolerant than 78 because my tux urchin did die and now i’m sure it’s because of the temp since my chiller would make the water even colder after i thought my previous thermometer was accurateI would think it's due to the large swing in temperature. Sometimes it's not so much the level of the parameters but the stability of those parameters (as long as your within the general realm of what's accepted) they keep coral happy. They don't like sudden changes to much.
