Was looking in my tank when I got home today and the mushroom I had on one of the rocks is gone it totally released from the rock and moved is this normal? Do they just disappear or die I've had others cut loose about half way up its stem and regrow from the base

One of my mushrooms has disappeared completely somewhere in my rocks, I would get it to grab hold and stay but then like you said would release and move with the current. I finally gave up and let it hopefully be where it's happy even if I can't see it. I've got a bounce mushroom that will move about 2 inches every 3 days. Again I've tried to get it to attach and set it where I wanted it, it detached and is now laying on my substrate. One day it will be right next to my rock, 3 days later it will be a couple inches away, it moves back & forth. Then I have another two mushrooms that I don't think I could move with a bulldozer off their rocks. Guess mushrooms are like people, you got ones that are loners, the field players (or bar hoppers) and then the ones married for life. :nerd:

Yea like I said I have one rock that is covered in them and they keep separating half way up there stems and producing more and I a have Cindy anemone that likes to circle the rock its on kinda funny u get up in the morning and its at the bottom come home from work and its at the right side

I wouldnt get mushrooms unless you keeps them on there own rock away from everything else. Theh multiply literaly every week.

they melt and float off when they aren't happy I would try and move it to a more favorable area. They will reattach somewhere they like if the flow isn't too high but if they are melting I would start by looking at your parameters or swings in your water.
