Mushroom splitting

I’ve got a mushroom coral that seems to growing a new foot? The new foot( at the red arrow) isn’t attached to the rock, it’s just floating there. The main foot is attached to the rock at the blue arrow. The shroom has been a bit closed up the last couple days and wondering if this is normal or if I need to do something. Any help would be appreciate.

I would not do anything personally. Anything you could do would just stress the mushroom at this point.

Chances are that floating piece of foot tissue will come down under the rock and then separate from the rest of the foot starting a new baby.

This is a few nights ago. It's already separated the baby off by a half inch.

No problem like sauce said dont disturb it or stress it out or it can and will pull that piece of foot in and make baby go away. Also those outside hanging babies have tendency to detach and float away once they separate. May want to keep and eye on it and chip it off and put in cup with rubble once that happens.
