Mushroom translucent?

Hi, I just got this mushroom and just put him into the tank around 2 days ago. Are these polyp extensions? If so, are they normal for a mushroom?

No it’s not normal, it must have been in poor condition before you got it. Based on your red discoma, I would suggest to leave it in that spot, it looks like a good mushroom spot. It will take some time to heal. Good luck.
