Can someone tell me what is going on here. It’s either another mouth or another butt! I'm not super familiar with these and would appreciate any input.

Yes, your mushroom has moved a bit and broken away from its previous attachment point. It leaves this bright green spot behind. But what is amazing it that green spot will grow into its own mushroom. My mushrooms do this often. It is fun to watch the spot start growing its little bubbles and looking like another mushroom. I can see the bubbles forming on yours already. I have one right now that just happened last week and already looks like a mini mushroom, but still green. Here is a pic. Zoom in on the center mushroom, then look to top left, you will see the barely visible green dots of the new one. Sorry my lights are already on moonlight.

Very nice! You think the new neon green color will stick around or do they eventually change back to the mother colors?

In my experience, they change back to match the bigger ones. I wish they stayed the color they start out through.

They do change to match....such a bummer. LOL The neon is so cool!!

Ok what the heck do I do when the mother completely detaches? It's currently on a frag plug.
If it's on the rocks it will stay attached to the rock. They can walk like an anemone

Nothing to worry about. It is moving because it wants to. It will attach on its own.

Speaking of anemone....mine likes to move all the time. It is always entertaining to see where it will be when I come home everyday. Seems happy as hell though, so I don't worry about it.
