Mushroom

My orange mushroom coral seems to have disappeared. The stem is still attached to the live rock but the body of the coral is gone. Any idea what happened?!

What ya gots in the tank that got hungry? If it died, you would have seen it start to disintegrate.

Nothing that I know of! Here's all I have:
• Cardinalfish
• 6 line wrasse
• Clownfish
• Hawkfish
• Purple Lobster

Double check your temp too. I had a similar thing happen to a few of my mushrooms when my heater malfunctioned and the tank temp ran up a bit.

Do you have any hermit crabs. I have a orange mushroom and I have seen a emerald crab take a few bites out of it

Mushrooms will do this. I think it's to repopulate A new one will grow from the stem thats left. The floater will attach elsewhere. Happens in my tank all the time see....

I hope that's the case. I don't see a floater anywhere though.
