Mushrooms loose in the tank....

I got a couple loose mushroom caps over the weekend. I glued each on to a small piece of rubble and placed them in very low flow area of the tank. This morning both are gone from their rocks :sad:
Any chance they will survive in the tank on their own? I have no clue where they drifted to.
They are both the size of a penny at most. Is it worth digging around in the tank to find them or shold I just chaulk up the loss and move on?
Two small shrooms won't do much to cause an ammonia spike in the nano will they? Assuming they die that is.......

They should be fine and most likely will attach themselves somewhere in the tank. What some people will do is put the mushrooms and some rubble rock in a small Tupperware and let the mushrooms attach themselves to the rubble. Mushrooms are hard to glue because they can be pretty slimy.

Thanks! I figured if they have settled somewhere where they can attach and live great, and if not they are small enough that their death shouldn't effect the tank. I think I'm gonna make a small flow through tray of sorts for my frags like this.
I just knew they needed more of my care dang it :neutral:

In fact they will be very happy when the end up somewhere they like. I have a small red cap that came loose from a LR that I bought with several on it. One day I noticed he was attached to the side of a rock where I would never expect him to survive. Well it was about 3/8" and now it is about 3/4" and is growing faster than everything in the tank. and to think I almost moved it to "rescue it".

lol happens to me all the time...if they get loose i wait until they pop back out somewhere or attach to something. like stated a tupperware is good or even a shot glass works nicely!

Found one of them...and I like where it 'landed'....gonna just leave it alone. No sign of the other one yet

Found the other one while doing my water change. I was able to just turn the rock it attached to, ever so slightly, and now I can see it and enjoy watching it grow. They both ended up about 6 inches apart on similar levels.....wouldn't doubt if they grow into a connected colony in time.
