Hey all, I’m about to use chemi clean again, last time I didn’t have my mushroom, so just wondering if they handle chemi clean well?

Anything that strips nutrients from the water is likely going to cause a negative reaction with corals, especially ones like mushrooms that like “dirty” water.

Anything I can do to prevent them from dying?

If possible go slow with it but I found it to strip nutrients pretty fast. The sharp dive/swing in nutrient levels typically makes everything mad.

What is your goal using it?

To remove Cyano that is now starting to cover corals, and rock, and sand
I’ve used chemiclean many a time with mushrooms, and mine have been fine. I should note that I didn’t have sensitive shrooms like ricordea or yumas.

When I use chemiclean, I usually started my first treatment at half the recommended dosage, and for the second treatment, 2/3 of recommend, and that was usually enough to knock it out for me, especially if you manually remove a bunch before you treat.

I have both ricodeas and yumas no problem used it 3 Times so far in my system, it hasn’t skipped a beat!

I used 1/3 dosage of chemiclean a month ago and it worked wonders to get rid of a lot of red slime. No issue with mushrooms or anything else to speak of.

One other thought on cyano. A lot of times you will get cyano when you don’t have enough flow.

Just used chemi clean on my tank with mushrooms, zoas, palys, acans and had noticed no ill effect on any inhabitants. Now that I've made a large water change and added some BRS rox carbon my corals look as full as can be.
