Mussel?

So tonight we spotted this little guy in our tank! What the what?! The tank has been going for over a year and I’ve never seen him before!

He is a mussel, right? Is he dead? Poor guy. (Ignore trocchus snail photobomb)

I actually had something similar happen to me, I found one tucked in a piece of live rock and caught him by chance, took him out just to be safe. Yours definitely looks like a mussel or clam of some sort

Poke him or blow the turkey Baster at him. It'll close

I'm guessing a clam, a mussle will usually attach (and it walks too like a clam) and then attaches and I've usually find them attached. Clams seem to wander

If it's a burrowing sand clam , it might be on its way out.
 
Well I puffed a turkey baster at him and he blew over and is empty inside [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]
