I have never seen these and they are in my tank... I bought my wife a t2i and I was just looking around in macro and noticed some of these things on the live rocks that I couldn['t see with my eyes...

This is right next to my devils hand... they are about 1/4" tall...

I think this might be a type of sponge? this is about 1/2 inches tall.

This was really cool but couldn't get closer, it looked like sticky globs but after looking at the photo it looks like an anemone sort of.

I have been curing live rock in a seperate tank and I have been putting in "purple up" is this the beginning of coralline?

Thanks

#1. Clove Polyps
#2. ?
#3. Either Ball Anemone or Strawberry Anemone. Typically these are a colonial anemone hitchhiker, usually growing in colder water, but they seem to be becoming more common hitchhikers, in our reef tanks lately.
#4. The blue things are sponges. The tiny red dots do appear to be the beginning of Coralline Algae.
#5. I see sponge and tiny Vermetid Snails.

Ok here are my opinions!

1. Some type of soft coral polyp. I have had some blue that were formed just like them. They spread fast!
2. Looks to be sponge.
3. Looks to be like some soft of anemone but not sure.
4. Blue sponge not coraline.
5. Sponge

BTW, very good photographs!

Thanks for the comments... you never know what comes along on for the ride... I even QT'd the rocks, I love having a camera that can macro, you get to see the micro world that you never really notice. It will be awhile before we get an actual macro lens... but if anyone has a macro lens cheap for a t2i and want to unload it... I am all ears :)
